Job Description
The Agile Coach at Career.zycto plays a pivotal role in championing agile methodologies and mindset across our dynamic project teams based in Hackney, London. We are seeking a dedicated professional with a profound understanding of agile principles, a proven track record of successful agile transformations, and exceptional communication skills, particularly in English, to guide our diverse talent. This role is not merely about process enforcement; it’s about fostering a culture of collaboration, transparency, continuous learning, and adaptation. You will be instrumental in empowering our teams to self-organize, innovate, and deliver high-quality products efficiently.
As an Agile Coach, you will be responsible for mentoring individuals and teams on various agile frameworks such as Scrum, Kanban, and Lean. Your expertise will help diagnose pain points, implement improvements, and tailor agile practices to fit the unique needs of different projects. You will facilitate workshops, training sessions, and retrospectives, ensuring all team members are aligned with agile values and principles. This position requires a proactive approach to identifying opportunities for growth, fostering psychological safety, and building strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
Your daily activities will involve providing hands-on coaching to Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and development teams, helping them overcome challenges and improve their delivery cadence. Key Responsibilities
- Coach and mentor multiple teams and individuals on agile principles, practices, and values.
- Facilitate agile ceremonies (e.g., daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, reviews) and ensure their effectiveness.
- Help teams identify and resolve impediments, continuously improving their flow and delivery capabilities.
- Design and deliver engaging agile training programs and workshops for various stakeholder groups.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, experimentation, and learning within and across teams.
- Collaborate with Product Owners to refine backlogs and ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Support organizational change management efforts related to agile adoption and transformation.
- Provide constructive feedback and guidance to enhance team performance and foster psychological safety.
- Champion the use of metrics and data to monitor agile maturity and identify areas for improvement.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience as an Agile Coach, Scrum Master, or equivalent role.
- Deep understanding and practical application of Scrum, Kanban, and Lean principles.
- Proven ability to guide and mentor multiple teams in their agile journey.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English, suitable for diverse audiences.
- Strong leadership and influencing skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
- Proficiency in conflict resolution and facilitating group decision-making.
- Experience with agile tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, Trello) for tracking and reporting.
- Demonstrable experience driving cultural change and fostering a growth mindset.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant agile certifications (e.g., Certified Scrum Professional (CSP), SAFe Agile Coach, LeSS Practitioner, ICAgile Certified Professional – Agile Coaching (ACC)).
- Experience with scaling agile frameworks (e.g., SAFe, LeSS, Nexus) in large organizations.
- Background in software development, product management, or quality assurance.
- Understanding of DevOps principles and practices.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field.
