Key Responsibilities

  • Assist senior researchers in the planning and execution of agricultural experiments in field, glasshouse, and laboratory settings.
  • Collect, record, and organise data accurately and consistently, ensuring data integrity.
  • Perform routine laboratory tasks, including sample preparation, analysis, and equipment maintenance.
  • Monitor crop growth, plant health, and environmental conditions.
  • Assist with the maintenance and calibration of research equipment.
  • Support data entry, preliminary statistical analysis, and report generation.
  • Maintain detailed and organised records of experimental procedures and results.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the research environment.
  • Contribute to the general upkeep and organisation of the research facility.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in an agricultural, biological, or scientific research setting.
  • Strong understanding of basic agricultural principles and scientific methodologies.
  • Proficiency in data collection, recording, and basic analysis.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
  • Ability to follow detailed protocols and work independently or as part of a team.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Physical ability to perform tasks involving fieldwork and lifting light equipment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A degree or HND in Agriculture, Horticulture, Plant Science, Environmental Science, or a related field.
