As an Agro Distribution Assistant, you will play a crucial role in the logistical backbone of our operations, ensuring that agricultural products move seamlessly from farms to various market points and end-users.

Your primary focus will be on supporting the distribution manager in coordinating daily logistics, managing inventory, and maintaining effective communication channels with farmers, transporters, and retail partners. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the daily planning and coordination of agricultural product distribution routes and schedules.
  • Monitor inventory levels of agricultural products in warehouses and cold storage facilities.
  • Prepare and verify dispatch documents, including waybills, invoices, and delivery notes.
  • Communicate effectively with farmers, transporters, and sales teams regarding delivery statuses and issues.
  • Ensure proper handling, packaging, and loading of products to minimize spoilage and damage during transit.
  • Maintain accurate records of all incoming and outgoing goods, using inventory management systems.
  • Conduct quality checks on products before dispatch to ensure they meet specified standards.
  • Support the resolution of logistical challenges and delivery discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene regulations related to food handling and storage.
  • Assist in the reconciliation of stock and report any discrepancies to the distribution manager.

Required Skills

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications (MS Office Suite, especially Excel).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • OND/HND/B.Sc. in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Agriculture, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Previous experience (internship or volunteer) in a logistics, warehouse, or agricultural setting.
  • Familiarity with inventory management software.
  • Knowledge of local agricultural produce and seasonal variations in Uyo and surrounding areas.
