Job Description

Career.zycto is on the lookout for a highly skilled and innovative AI Engineer with a strong focus on model training and automation to join our dynamic team in Walkley, Sheffield. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and deploying cutting-edge artificial intelligence and machine learning models that drive our core product offerings. You will be responsible for the entire lifecycle of our AI models, from initial data exploration and feature engineering through to model selection, rigorous training, validation, and ultimately, their seamless integration and automation within our production systems. Your expertise will directly impact our ability to deliver highly efficient, scalable, and intelligent solutions to our clients across various sectors.

We are seeking an individual who is not only proficient in a wide array of machine learning algorithms and deep learning frameworks but also possesses a deep understanding of MLOps principles. A key part of your role will involve building and maintaining robust, automated pipelines for data ingestion, model training, evaluation, and continuous deployment. You will collaborate closely with data scientists to transition experimental models into production-ready solutions, working alongside software engineers to ensure optimal performance, scalability, and maintainability. Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement advanced machine learning models and algorithms tailored to specific business problems.
  • Build and maintain robust MLOps pipelines for automated data ingestion, model training, evaluation, deployment, and monitoring.
  • Collaborate with data scientists to translate research prototypes into production-grade, scalable AI solutions.
  • Optimize existing AI models for performance, accuracy, efficiency, and resource utilization.
  • Develop tools and frameworks to streamline the model development and deployment process.
  • Monitor deployed AI models for performance degradation, bias, and data drift, implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Ensure model governance, version control, and comprehensive documentation for all AI assets.
  • Stay abreast of the latest advancements in AI, machine learning, and MLOps, evaluating and integrating new technologies where appropriate.
  • Participate in code reviews, contribute to architectural discussions, and mentor junior engineers.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in Python and its data science ecosystem (NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn).
  • Strong experience with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Keras.
  • Solid understanding of various machine learning algorithms (e.g., supervised, unsupervised, reinforcement learning).
  • Experience with MLOps tools and practices (e.g., MLflow, Kubeflow, Airflow, CI/CD for ML).
  • Proficiency with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) for deploying and managing AI services.
  • Strong database skills (SQL, NoSQL) for data extraction and manipulation.
  • Experience with version control systems, particularly Git.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and a strong analytical mindset.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related quantitative field.
  • Experience with distributed computing frameworks like Apache Spark or Dask.
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Knowledge of real-time machine learning systems and low-latency model serving.
  • Previous experience in a fast-paced, agile development environment.
  • Contributions to open-source projects or a portfolio demonstrating relevant work.
