Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and processing of air waybills, customs documentation, and other shipping-related paperwork.
  • Receive, inspect, and label incoming air cargo shipments, ensuring accuracy against manifests.
  • Coordinate with warehouse staff for the proper storage and dispatch of goods.
  • Communicate effectively with airlines, clients, and customs agents regarding shipment status and documentation.
  • Monitor and track cargo movements, providing updates to clients as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with all local and international air cargo regulations and safety standards.
  • Assist in resolving any discrepancies or issues related to shipments, escalating complex problems to senior staff.
  • Maintain organized records and digital logs of all cargo activities.
  • Support general office administration tasks as needed to ensure smooth departmental operations.

Required Skills

  • Basic computer proficiency (MS Office Suite, data entry).
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Problem-solving aptitude and a proactive approach.
  • Ability to handle physical tasks associated with cargo handling (lifting up to 20kg).
  • Fluency in English and Swahili.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in logistics, warehousing, or customer service.
  • Knowledge of air freight operations and customs procedures.
  • Diploma or certificate in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
