Key Responsibilities
- Accurately sort and categorize incoming and outgoing air cargo shipments based on destination, type, and priority.
- Efficiently load and unload freight from trucks, aircraft containers, and other transport vehicles, adhering to safety guidelines.
- Verify shipment details against manifests, labels, and other documentation to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
- Operate various manual and powered warehouse equipment, such as pallet jacks and hand trucks, following proper training and safety procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, ensuring compliance with all company and regulatory safety standards.
- Adhere strictly to all security protocols and procedures for handling high-value and sensitive cargo.
- Identify and report any damaged, missing, or improperly labeled items to supervisors immediately.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and other departments to ensure smooth workflow and operational efficiency.
- Assist in inventory counts and stock checks as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support overall warehouse operations.
Required Skills
- Proven physical stamina and ability to lift, push, pull, and carry heavy items (up to 50 lbs) repeatedly.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in reading labels, numbers, and documentation.
- Strong sense of reliability, punctuality, and commitment to work schedules.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a cohesive team.
- Basic literacy skills (ability to read and understand instructions, manifests, and safety warnings).
- Understanding and adherence to workplace safety procedures and protocols.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and a warehouse environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience (at least 6 months) in a warehouse, logistics, or cargo handling environment.
- Valid forklift operator certification (an asset, but not mandatory for initial hire).
- Familiarity with air cargo handling procedures and security regulations.
- Basic computer skills for data entry, scanning, and tracking systems.
