Job Description
We are seeking highly vigilant and dedicated individuals to join our team as Airport Security Officers, specializing in Access Control & Screening. This pivotal role is located within the dynamic environment of Cardiff Airport, operating from the Docks area. As an Airport Security Officer, you will be on the front line of aviation safety, ensuring the protection of passengers, airport staff, aircraft, and critical infrastructure. Your primary responsibility will be to enforce security regulations, conduct thorough screening procedures, and manage access points with precision and professionalism.
This role demands exceptional attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to remain calm and decisive under pressure. You will be responsible for operating advanced security equipment, interpreting X-ray images, conducting physical searches, and verifying identification documents. Beyond technical tasks, you will also serve as a crucial point of contact for passengers and staff, providing clear instructions and assistance while maintaining a customer-focused approach to security. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough screening of passengers, carry-on luggage, checked baggage, and cargo using advanced security technology (X-ray machines, metal detectors, explosive trace detection systems).
- Perform physical pat-downs and searches in accordance with established security protocols, maintaining professionalism and respect.
- Control access points to restricted areas of the airport, verifying identification and authorization for all individuals and vehicles.
- Monitor surveillance systems and conduct regular patrols of designated areas to deter and detect security breaches or suspicious activities.
- Respond promptly and effectively to security incidents, emergencies, and alarms, following established procedures and coordinating with emergency services.
- Accurately complete incident reports, daily logs, and other required documentation.
- Provide clear, concise, and courteous instructions and information to passengers and airport personnel.
- Adhere strictly to all national and international aviation security regulations and company policies.
- Maintain a high level of physical fitness and readiness to perform duties that may include standing for long periods, lifting, and swift movement.
