Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Analytics Operations Support professional to join our growing team in Bridgeland, Calgary. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, analytical acumen, and a proactive approach to operational support. The successful candidate will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our analytics platforms and data pipelines. They will be the first line of defense for data quality issues, system performance bottlenecks, and user support, playing a critical role in maintaining the integrity and availability of our business intelligence capabilities. This position demands someone who can troubleshoot complex issues, communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within our data ecosystem. Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain the health, performance, and availability of analytics platforms, data warehouses, and ETL processes.
  • Perform root cause analysis for operational incidents related to data pipelines, reporting tools, and analytics infrastructure.
  • Provide technical support to data analysts and business users, addressing queries and resolving issues related to data access, reports, and dashboards.
  • Implement and optimize data quality checks and validation procedures to ensure accuracy and consistency across all data sources.
  • Document operational procedures, system configurations, and troubleshooting guides to enhance team knowledge and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with data engineers and developers to deploy new data models, features, and system enhancements, ensuring smooth transitions to production.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of monitoring tools, alerts, and operational dashboards.
  • Participate in on-call rotations to provide timely support for critical production issues, as required.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in SQL for data querying, manipulation, and analysis.
  • Experience with data warehousing concepts and technologies (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery).
  • Familiarity with ETL/ELT tools and processes (e.g., Airflow, dbt, Fivetran).
  • Strong understanding of data quality principles and data governance best practices.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and identify root causes.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving capabilities and analytical thinking.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related quantitative field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their data services.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python) for automation and data processing.
  • Knowledge of business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker).
  • Understanding of ITIL practices for incident and problem management.
  • Previous experience in a data operations, analytics support, or similar technical support role.
