Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior animators in various stages of the animation production pipeline, including pre-production, production, and post-production.
- Support the creation of 2D or 3D assets, characters, backgrounds, and props according to project requirements and artistic direction.
- Perform foundational animation tasks, such as in-betweening, clean-up, coloring, and basic motion graphics under supervision.
- Organize and manage animation files, assets, and project documentation efficiently.
- Actively participate in team meetings, critiques, and brainstorming sessions, offering creative input and absorbing feedback.
- Learn and apply new animation techniques, software, and workflows as guided by mentors.
- Ensure consistency in animation style, quality, and adherence to project deadlines.
- Conduct research and gather reference materials to support animation tasks.
- Troubleshoot basic technical issues related to animation software and pipelines.
- Maintain a proactive attitude towards learning and professional development.
Required Skills
- Basic understanding of animation principles (e.g., squash & stretch, anticipation, timing)
- Proficiency in fundamental drawing skills and visual storytelling
- Familiarity with at least one animation software (e.g., Adobe Animate, Toon Boom Harmony, Blender, Maya, Photoshop)
- Strong attention to detail and a keen eye for aesthetics
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to take and implement constructive feedback
- Proactive and enthusiastic approach to learning
- Portfolio demonstrating foundational artistic or animation abilities (even personal projects)
Preferred Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in or recently completed a diploma or degree in animation, graphic design, fine arts, or a related field
- Experience with storyboarding or character design
- Knowledge of video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects)
- Understanding of rendering processes and compositing basics
- Basic understanding of rigging principles (for 3D animation)
