Career.zycto is seeking a talented and self-motivated API Developer to join our fully remote team. In this ‘work from anywhere’ role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance, secure, and scalable APIs that power our diverse suite of products and services. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs using modern programming languages and frameworks.
- Collaborate effectively with product managers, front-end developers, and other back-end engineers to define API specifications and data models.
- Ensure the security, scalability, reliability, and optimal performance of APIs through thoughtful design and rigorous implementation.
- Write comprehensive unit, integration, and end-to-end tests for all API endpoints to guarantee functionality and stability.
- Create and maintain clear, concise, and accurate API documentation for both internal and external developer communities.
- Actively participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback and ensuring adherence to best practices and coding standards.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex API-related issues in a timely and efficient manner.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of our API development processes, tools, and overall architectural strategy.
- Stay current with emerging API technologies, industry trends, and security standards to drive innovation.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (3+ years) in designing and developing high-performance RESTful APIs.
- Proficiency in at least one major back-end programming language (e.g., Python, Node.js, Java, C#, Go).
- Strong understanding of database technologies, including both SQL (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB, Redis).
- Expertise with version control systems, particularly Git, and collaborative development workflows.
- Familiarity with API authentication and authorization mechanisms (e.g., OAuth2, JWT, API Keys).
- Understanding of microservices architecture, distributed systems, and inter-service communication patterns.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills with a meticulous approach.
