Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and execute comprehensive API test cases manually and through automation frameworks.
- Identify, document, and track software defects and inconsistencies in bug tracking systems (e.g., JIRA), ensuring timely resolution.
- Collaborate with development teams to understand API functionalities, specifications, and underlying architecture.
- Develop and maintain automated API test scripts using industry-standard tools and programming languages.
- Perform regression testing to ensure new code changes do not introduce new defects or reintroduce old ones.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of QA processes, tools, and methodologies within a remote environment.
- Participate in requirement analysis, sprint planning, and design reviews to provide early feedback on testability.
- Monitor API performance, scalability, and security aspects, reporting any deviations from expected behavior.
- Ensure clear and concise test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and test reports.
- Stay updated with the latest API testing trends, tools, and best practices.
Required Skills
- Proficiency with API testing tools such as Postman, SoapUI, or Swagger UI.
- Strong understanding of RESTful and SOAP APIs.
- Experience with at least one programming/scripting language (e.g., Python, JavaScript, Java) for test automation.
- Familiarity with JSON and XML data formats.
- Solid knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
- Experience with bug tracking and test management tools (e.g., JIRA, Azure DevOps, TestRail).
- Understanding of version control systems like Git.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for remote collaboration.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a work-from-home setup.
