Key Responsibilities
- Scout, identify, and sign new talent across various genres who demonstrate commercial potential and artistic integrity.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with artists, producers, managers, and other industry professionals.
- Oversee the creative development process for signed artists, including song selection, studio production, and mixing.
- Monitor global music trends, competitive releases, and emerging artists to inform A&R strategy.
- Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations on potential signings, including market analysis and financial projections.
- Collaborate with marketing, publicity, and sales teams to develop effective release strategies for new projects.
- Negotiate and manage artist contracts, ensuring fair terms and compliance with legal guidelines.
- Attend live shows, showcases, and industry events to discover new talent and network.
- Manage A&R budgets and timelines for artist projects.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (2+ years) in an A&R role or a related music industry position.
- Exceptional ear for music and a deep understanding of current and future music trends across diverse genres.
- Strong existing network within the music industry (artists, producers, managers, venues).
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Demonstrated ability to identify and nurture raw talent.
- Strong project management and organizational abilities.
- Proficiency in market research and data analysis to support A&R decisions.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a collaborative team.
- Full UK driving license and willingness to travel for scouting and meetings.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Music Business, Marketing, or a related field.
- Experience with digital audio workstations (DAWs) and music production software.
- Understanding of music publishing, licensing, and copyright.
