Job Description
We are seeking a highly talented and experienced Architect to join our vibrant design and planning team in Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham. This pivotal role requires a creative visionary with a strong understanding of building regulations, sustainable design principles, and project lifecycle management. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the conceptual design, detailed design, and technical drawing phases of diverse architectural projects, ensuring adherence to client briefs and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and present design proposals, reports, and presentations to clients, stakeholders, and planning authorities.
- Conduct site visits, surveys, and feasibility studies to assess project potential and inform design solutions.
- Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams, including structural engineers, M&E consultants, and landscape architects.
- Oversee the production of planning applications, building control submissions, and tender documentation.
- Ensure all designs comply with UK building regulations, health and safety standards, and sustainable design practices.
- Mentor junior architectural staff and contribute to the overall knowledge sharing and development within the team.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources efficiently to ensure successful project delivery.
Required Skills
- ARB registered Architect with a minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience in the UK.
- Proficiency in architectural software, including AutoCAD, Revit, and SketchUp.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating experience in various project types (residential, commercial, mixed-use).
- In-depth knowledge of UK building regulations, planning policies, and construction processes.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to manage projects independently and as part of a team.
- Solid understanding of sustainable design principles and their practical application.
Preferred Qualifications
- RIBA chartered Architect.
- Experience with BIM methodologies and software (e.g., ArchiCAD).
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign) for graphic presentations.
- Experience in client relationship management and business development.
- Knowledge of local planning context within the West Midlands region.
