Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Professional Architect to join our dynamic team in Gordon Town, St. Andrew. This is an exceptional opportunity for a seasoned architect with a passion for design excellence, sustainable practices, and a proven track record of successful project delivery within a design firm setting. As a Professional Architect at McGregor & McGregor, you will be instrumental in leading projects from conceptualization through to completion, ensuring the highest standards of architectural design and technical execution. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead architectural projects from initial concept development through to construction administration, ensuring adherence to design intent, budget, and schedule.
  • Develop comprehensive architectural drawings, specifications, and other technical documentation using industry-leading software.
  • Conduct site visits, perform site analysis, and oversee construction progress to ensure compliance with design documents and quality standards.
  • Collaborate effectively with clients, contractors, consultants, and regulatory agencies.
  • Mentor and guide junior architects and technical staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
  • Ensure all designs comply with local building codes, zoning regulations, and other relevant legal requirements.
  • Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources efficiently.
  • Prepare and present design proposals and project updates to clients and stakeholders.
  • Research and integrate sustainable design practices and innovative building technologies into projects.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited institution.
  • Registered Architect in Jamaica (or eligible for immediate registration).
  • Minimum of 5 years of post-licensure experience in an architectural design firm.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and other relevant design software.
  • Demonstrated experience in project management and team leadership.
  • Strong understanding of building codes, construction methods, and material specifications.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • LEED Green Associate or Accredited Professional certification.
  • Experience with BIM implementation and management.
  • Portfolio showcasing a diverse range of successful projects.
  • Proficiency in 3D rendering and visualization software (e.g., V-Ray, Enscape).
  • Experience with hospitality, commercial, or high-end residential projects.
