Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Architect with a strong focus on design and planning to join our dynamic team in Cassis, Port Louis. The ideal candidate will possess a keen eye for detail, exceptional design capabilities, and a thorough understanding of the entire architectural project lifecycle. You will be instrumental in conceptualizing, developing, and executing architectural projects from initial feasibility studies through to detailed design and construction documentation. This role requires a professional who can blend creativity with technical expertise, effectively manage client relationships, and ensure projects adhere to all regulatory standards and client specifications. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and contribute to the conceptualization, design development, and presentation of architectural projects.
  • Prepare comprehensive architectural drawings, specifications, and documentation using CAD and BIM software.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, site analysis, and interpret client briefs to inform design solutions.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, including structural engineers, M&E consultants, and quantity surveyors.
  • Ensure all designs comply with local building codes, regulations, and environmental standards in Mauritius.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively to meet client expectations.
  • Engage with clients throughout all project phases, presenting designs and incorporating feedback.
  • Oversee the preparation of tender documents and assist in contractor selection.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections during construction to ensure adherence to design intent and quality standards.
  • Mentor junior architects and technicians, fostering a collaborative learning environment.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and SketchUp (or equivalent 3D modeling software).
  • Strong understanding of architectural design principles, building codes, and construction techniques.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple projects concurrently.
  • Demonstrated experience in all phases of architectural project delivery.
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken); French is a significant advantage.
  • Problem-solving aptitude and strong analytical skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Architecture.
  • Experience with BIM methodologies and software beyond basic Revit use.
  • Professional registration with the Architects Council of Mauritius (ACM) or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of sustainable design principles and LEED certification processes.
