Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated, creative, and talented Architect with a strong passion for innovative design and meticulous planning to join our dynamic team located in Camp Caval, Curepipe. As an Architect at DL2A, you will play a pivotal role in all phases of diverse architectural projects, from initial concept development, feasibility studies, and client brief interpretation through to detailed design, comprehensive construction documentation, and attentive site supervision. This challenging and rewarding role demands a creative problem-solver with excellent technical skills, a keen eye for aesthetics, and an unwavering attention to detail. You will be instrumental in translating complex client visions and functional requirements into tangible, buildable, and inspiring architectural designs. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and actively participate in the conceptualization and development of innovative architectural designs for various project types and scales.
  • Prepare comprehensive and detailed architectural drawings, specifications, and other technical documentation using industry-standard CAD and BIM software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit).
  • Conduct thorough site visits, surveys, and detailed analysis to inform design decisions, identify potential challenges, and ensure strict compliance with design intent during the construction phase.
  • Collaborate effectively with clients to deeply understand their needs, present design concepts articulately, and incorporate feedback efficiently and creatively.
  • Coordinate seamlessly with structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP), and other consulting engineers to integrate all building systems and services harmoniously.
  • Ensure all designs strictly adhere to Mauritian building codes, local planning regulations, zoning bylaws, and best practices in sustainable design principles.
  • Manage project timelines, allocate resources effectively, and monitor budgets to ensure efficient project delivery from inception to completion.
  • Prepare and present compelling design proposals, comprehensive reports, and detailed feasibility studies to clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.
  • Mentor junior architectural staff, fostering their development and contributing positively to a collaborative, supportive, and high-performance team environment.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an internationally accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 3 years of post-qualification professional experience in architectural design, documentation, and project execution.
  • Advanced proficiency in architectural software including AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign).
  • Strong understanding of architectural design principles, construction methods, building materials, and detailing.
  • In-depth knowledge of Mauritian building codes, planning regulations, permitting processes, and local construction practices.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, prioritize tasks effectively, and meet stringent deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, coupled with a meticulous attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Registered Architect with the Professional Architects Council of Mauritius (PAC) or actively working towards registration.
  • Experience with sustainable design principles, green building certifications (e.g., LEED, EDGE), and energy-efficient design strategies.
  • A compelling portfolio demonstrating a diverse range of project types and evidence of design excellence and technical proficiency.
  • Experience in client relationship management, business development, and tender documentation.
