This is an unparalleled opportunity for a creative professional to contribute to a diverse portfolio of impactful projects, from concept through to completion.

As an Architect focused on design and building plans, you will be at the forefront of shaping our architectural vision. Your primary responsibility will involve translating client aspirations and project requirements into innovative, functional, and aesthetically pleasing designs. This will encompass everything from initial feasibility studies and conceptual sketches to detailed architectural drawings, specifications, and 3D visualizations. You will play a crucial role in developing comprehensive building plans that adhere strictly to local building codes, environmental standards, and budget constraints, ensuring design integrity and constructability. The role demands a keen understanding of material science, structural considerations, and environmental impact.

This position requires a proactive individual who thrives in a collaborative environment, capable of working independently while also contributing effectively within a multidisciplinary project team. You will engage directly with clients, consultants (such as structural engineers, MEP specialists), and contractors, presenting design concepts, incorporating feedback, and ensuring seamless coordination across all project phases. We are looking for someone passionate about sustainable design practices, committed to staying abreast of industry trends, and eager to push the boundaries of architectural innovation. If you possess exceptional design skills, technical proficiency, strong leadership potential, and a resolute commitment to delivering high-quality architectural solutions, we invite you to help us build the future.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the conceptualization and development of architectural designs from initial brief to detailed drawings for various building types (residential, commercial, institutional).
  • Prepare comprehensive architectural plans, elevations, sections, and detailed drawings using advanced CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit).
  • Conduct thorough site analyses, feasibility studies, and develop optimal spatial planning strategies.
  • Collaborate closely with clients to understand their needs, present design proposals, and incorporate feedback effectively and efficiently.
  • Ensure all designs and building plans comply rigorously with local building regulations, zoning laws, environmental standards, and health & safety guidelines.
  • Coordinate seamlessly with structural engineers, MEP consultants, quantity surveyors, and other specialists to integrate their inputs into the overall design.
  • Prepare detailed design specifications, material selections, and contribute actively to cost estimates and tender documentation.
  • Produce high-quality 3D renderings and engaging presentations for client approvals and stakeholder engagement.
  • Oversee the design development process, ensuring strict adherence to project timelines, budget constraints, and quality standards.
  • Participate in regular site visits during construction to ensure design intent is meticulously maintained and address any design-related issues promptly.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from a recognized institution.
  • Registration with the Board of Registration of Architects and Quantity Surveyors of Kenya (BORAQS) or eligibility for registration.
  • Minimum of 4 years of proven professional experience in an architectural design role, with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
  • Expert proficiency in AutoCAD, Autodesk Revit, SketchUp, and other relevant architectural design and modeling software.
  • Strong understanding of Kenyan building codes, zoning regulations, and construction practices.
  • Excellent visual, written, and verbal communication skills for effective client and team interaction.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop creative and innovative design solutions while meeting functional and technical requirements.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects concurrently with strict deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to producing high-quality, accurate, and professional work.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with sustainable design principles and green building certifications (e.g., LEED, EDGE, Green Star).
