Key Responsibilities

  • Assist senior architects and designers in preparing and modifying architectural drawings, blueprints, and visual presentations using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit).
  • Conduct research on building codes, regulations, materials, and design solutions to support ongoing projects.
  • Organize and maintain project documentation, files, and design libraries, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
  • Support the creation of presentation materials, including renderings, diagrams, and physical models for client meetings and internal reviews.
  • Collaborate with team members on design development, offering fresh perspectives and contributing to brainstorming sessions.
  • Perform basic administrative tasks related to project management and office operations.
  • Participate in site visits and project meetings to observe construction progress and gain practical insights (under supervision).
  • Learn and apply company standards, policies, and best practices in architectural design and documentation.
  • Provide general support to the design team as needed, contributing to a smooth workflow.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD; familiarity with Revit or other BIM software is a strong asset.
  • Basic understanding of architectural design principles, drafting standards, and construction methods.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new software and processes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Eagerness to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Problem-solving aptitude.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an Architectural Technology, Architecture, or related program.
  • Prior experience with graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite).

  • Familiarity with local building codes and zoning regulations in Prince Edward Island.
