Job Description

Are you a highly motivated and results-driven professional with a passion for music and talent development? Career.zycto is seeking an ‘Artist Manager’ to join our vibrant team in Prospect, Adelaide. This immediate hire role is crucial for managing the careers of our diverse roster of artists, spanning various genres. As an Artist Manager, you will be the primary point of contact and strategic partner for our artists, guiding them through every facet of their professional journey. This includes everything from securing performance opportunities, negotiating contracts, managing public relations, overseeing recording projects, and developing long-term career strategies. We are looking for an individual with exceptional communication skills, a deep understanding of the entertainment industry, and a proven track record of nurturing artist talent. You will be instrumental in building and maintaining strong relationships with record labels, promoters, media, and other industry stakeholders. This role demands a proactive approach, excellent problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to thrive in a fast-paced, creative environment. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive career strategies for assigned artists, including short-term and long-term goals.
  • Act as the primary liaison between artists and record labels, publishers, booking agents, promoters, and media.
  • Negotiate and manage all artist contracts, including recording agreements, publishing deals, touring contracts, and endorsement deals.
  • Oversee tour logistics, budgeting, and performance schedules.
  • Manage public relations and media outreach, securing interviews, features, and promotional opportunities.
  • Supervise recording projects, ensuring timely completion and budget adherence.
  • Monitor artist branding, social media presence, and overall public image.
  • Manage artist finances, including income tracking, expense management, and royalty collection.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities for artists, such as brand partnerships and licensing deals.
  • Provide mentorship, guidance, and support to artists to foster their creative and professional growth.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in artist management, A&R, or a similar role within the music industry.
  • Demonstrable understanding of music industry dynamics, including label operations, publishing, touring, and digital distribution.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and networking abilities.
  • Proven ability to strategize and execute career plans for artists.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard software and digital tools relevant to music management.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Music Business, Arts Management, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Established network of contacts within the Australian music industry.
  • Experience with international artist development and market penetration.
  • A deep passion for music and a keen ear for identifying emerging talent.
  • Fluency in additional languages is a plus.
