Career.zycto is seeking a highly motivated and creative Assistant Video Producer to join our growing team in Baltimore, Maryland. This entry-level, part-time position offers a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to gain invaluable hands-on experience in all facets of video production. In this role, you will support our production team across various projects, from concept development and pre-production to filming, editing, and post-production. You’ll work closely with experienced producers, directors, and editors, assisting with equipment setup, shoot logistics, asset management, and preliminary editing tasks. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist producers with pre-production tasks, including research, location scouting, and talent coordination.
  • Support on-set production by setting up and breaking down equipment (cameras, lighting, audio gear).
  • Operate teleprompters, assist with script supervision, and manage production logs during shoots.
  • Organize and manage video assets, footage, and project files efficiently.
  • Perform basic video editing, including rough cuts, syncing audio, and adding graphics, under supervision.
  • Conduct quality control checks on video content to ensure adherence to brand guidelines and technical specifications.
  • Collaborate with the creative team to brainstorm new ideas and concepts for video projects.
  • Help maintain and inventory production equipment, ensuring it is in excellent working condition.
  • Contribute to post-production workflows, including color correction, sound mixing, and final export preparations.
  • Provide general administrative support to the production team as needed.

Required Skills

  • Basic understanding of video production workflows and terminology.
  • Familiarity with video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve).
  • Proficiency with basic camera operation and lighting setups.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
  • A keen eye for detail and a creative mindset.
  • Proficient in G Suite or Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Enrollment in or completion of a degree program in Film, Media Production, Communications, or a related field.
  • Prior experience with video projects, even personal or academic.
  • Knowledge of motion graphics (e.g., Adobe After Effects) is a plus.
  • Experience with studio lighting techniques.
  • A portfolio or reel showcasing video editing or production work.
