Job Description

Are you a highly organized and meticulous professional with a passion for precision and process improvement? MNP LLP is seeking an experienced Audit Review Coordinator to join our dynamic team in Kensington, Calgary. This full-time, on-site role is critical in ensuring the smooth and efficient progression of our audit engagements, supporting our assurance professionals and ultimately contributing to the exceptional service we provide to our diverse client base.

As an Audit Review Coordinator, you will be the linchpin between various stages of the audit lifecycle, responsible for orchestrating the review process, managing documentation flow, and upholding our rigorous quality standards. You will work closely with audit teams, partners, and clients, ensuring all necessary information is gathered, reviewed, and finalized in a timely manner. Your exceptional organizational skills, keen eye for detail, and proactive communication will be paramount in this role. Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the internal review process for audit engagements, ensuring all documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant with MNP’s standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage the flow of audit files and working papers, from initial preparation through to final sign-off, utilizing firm-specific software and systems.
  • Liaise with audit engagement teams, partners, and clients to facilitate information exchange, follow up on outstanding items, and address review comments efficiently.
  • Track the progress of audit reviews, identify potential delays, and proactively communicate status updates to relevant stakeholders.
  • Assist in the preparation of client deliverables, including financial statements and management letters, ensuring all necessary amendments from the review process are incorporated.
  • Maintain organized digital and physical filing systems for audit documentation, ensuring easy retrieval and adherence to retention policies.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of audit processes and methodologies by providing feedback and suggesting efficiencies.
  • Provide administrative support to the assurance team as required, including scheduling meetings, managing correspondence, and preparing presentations.
  • Ensure strict adherence to MNP’s quality control policies and professional standards at all times.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in an administrative or coordinator role, preferably within an accounting, finance, or professional services environment.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with audit management software or similar professional service systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for clear and professional interaction with internal teams and clients.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively within a team setting.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to task management.
  • A foundational understanding of accounting principles and audit processes is highly beneficial.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Experience with an audit firm or in an internal audit department.
  • Familiarity with Caseware or other audit-specific software.
  • Knowledge of Canadian auditing standards (CAS) and related regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience in process improvement or project coordination roles.
