Job Description

We are seeking a highly meticulous and experienced Auditor to join our dynamic Internal Audit team at ABC Group Mauritius. Based at our Trianon Corporate Centre, this full-time role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute significantly to the financial integrity, operational efficiency, and risk management framework across our diverse business units. As an Auditor, you will be instrumental in conducting comprehensive financial and operational audits, ensuring compliance with internal policies, external regulations, and international accounting standards. You will be responsible for meticulously reviewing financial statements, transactional data, internal controls, and operational processes to identify potential risks, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement. This role demands a sharp analytical mind, strong attention to detail, and the ability to communicate complex findings clearly and concisely to various levels of management. You will work collaboratively with different departments, providing independent assurance and consulting services designed to add value and improve the Group’s operations. Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, execute, and complete financial, operational, and compliance audits in accordance with approved audit programs and professional standards.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls, identifying weaknesses and recommending practical solutions to mitigate risks.
  • Perform detailed analysis of financial records, transactions, and processes to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to policies and regulations.
  • Prepare comprehensive audit working papers, documenting findings, conclusions, and recommendations.
  • Communicate audit findings clearly and concisely to management, both verbally and in written reports.
  • Follow up on the implementation of audit recommendations to ensure timely and effective remediation of identified issues.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal audit methodologies, tools, and processes.
  • Stay abreast of changes in accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Assist in the development of risk-based audit plans.
  • Foster strong working relationships with auditees while maintaining independence and objectivity.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in financial and operational auditing.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and local accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in audit software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of integrity, objectivity, and professional skepticism.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Understanding of risk management frameworks.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA, CPA, CIMA).
  • Experience with internal audit frameworks such as COSO.
  • Prior experience in a diversified group or Big Four audit firm.
  • Knowledge of local tax regulations in Mauritius.
  • Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
