Job Description

Career.zycto is seeking a meticulous and experienced Auditor – Financial Review & Compliance to join our team, working with a diverse portfolio of clients in Liverpool. This pivotal role involves conducting comprehensive financial audits, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards, and providing strategic insights to improve internal controls and operational efficiency. You will be instrumental in safeguarding financial integrity, identifying potential risks, and driving compliance within dynamic business environments.

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and executing audit engagements from start to finish, including evaluating financial statements, assessing internal control systems, and reviewing compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, execute, and complete financial audit engagements in accordance with professional standards (e.g., ISA, IFRS, GAAP).
  • Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal control systems and identify areas for improvement.
  • Perform substantive testing and analytical procedures on financial statements and supporting documentation.
  • Review compliance with relevant laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Prepare comprehensive audit reports detailing findings, risks, and recommendations.
  • Communicate audit results and recommendations to management and key stakeholders effectively.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external clients to gather necessary information and facilitate audit processes.
  • Monitor the implementation of audit recommendations and follow up on corrective actions.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of audit methodologies and best practices.
  • Stay abreast of changes in accounting standards, regulations, and industry trends.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in financial auditing principles and practices.
  • Strong understanding of IFRS, GAAP, and other relevant accounting standards.
  • Demonstrable experience with internal control frameworks (e.g., COSO).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in audit software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong ethical conduct and professional integrity.

Preferred Qualifications

  • ACCA, ACA, CIMA, CPA, or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
