Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the setup and teardown of a wide range of AV equipment, including projectors, screens, microphones, speakers, mixers, and cameras.
- Provide on-site support to lead AV Technicians during live events, monitoring equipment performance and proactively addressing minor technical issues.
- Perform basic troubleshooting of audio, video, and lighting systems to ensure smooth event execution.
- Organize, maintain, and inventory AV equipment, ensuring all gear is clean, functional, and ready for deployment.
- Assist with effective cable management and signal flow configuration for various setups.
- Safely load and unload equipment from vehicles and event spaces, adhering to proper handling procedures.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety protocols and operational guidelines.
- Maintain a professional demeanor and provide excellent on-site support to clients and event organizers.
Required Skills
- Basic understanding of audiovisual equipment and terminology.
- Strong interest in AV technology, event production, or related fields.
- Excellent problem-solving and basic troubleshooting abilities.
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
- Physical capability to lift and move heavy equipment (up to 25 kg) regularly.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills for client and team interaction.
- Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (even amateur, volunteer, or academic) with AV equipment setup or event support.
- Enrollment in or completion of a relevant technical program (e.g., electronics, IT, media production).
- Familiarity with different operating systems (Windows, macOS) for media playback and presentation software.
- Knowledge of various connection types (HDMI, XLR, RCA, USB) and their applications.
- A valid Mauritian driver's license.
