Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently fuel various types of aircraft according to company policies and federal regulations.
- Conduct thorough pre-operational checks and post-operational inspections of fueling equipment and vehicles.
- Maintain accurate fuel logs, records, and documentation for all fueling operations.
- Operate specialized fueling equipment, including trucks, pumps, and hoses, with precision and care.
- Communicate effectively with flight crews, dispatchers, and other ground personnel regarding fueling status and requirements.
- Adhere strictly to all safety procedures, including those pertaining to hazardous materials handling and spill prevention.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleanliness tasks on fueling equipment and work areas.
- Respond promptly and appropriately to emergency situations, including fuel spills or equipment malfunctions.
- Participate in ongoing training and safety refreshers to maintain compliance and best practices.
- Assist with other ground support duties as needed to ensure smooth airport operations.
Required Skills
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to obtain and maintain airport security clearance (e.g., SIDA badge).
- Strong commitment to safety and adherence to detailed procedures.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including extreme temperatures.
- Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand, walk, climb, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong observational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.
- Basic mathematical skills for fuel calculations and record-keeping.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in aviation ground support, fueling, or a similar industrial role.
- Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with hazardous materials endorsement.
