Coastal Aviation, a premier safari airline operating extensively in Zanzibar, is urgently seeking a dedicated Aviation Ground Crew Assistant to join our operational team in Kokoni, Zanzibar North. From marshalling aircraft on the tarmac with precision and care, to efficiently loading and unloading baggage and cargo, every action you take directly impacts our operations. You’ll be part of a close-knit team, working outdoors in various weather conditions, and utilizing specialized ground support equipment. Key Responsibilities
- Marshall aircraft on the ramp, guiding pilots to parking positions with clear and precise hand signals.
- Load and unload baggage, cargo, and mail onto and from aircraft, ensuring proper weight distribution and security.
- Operate and maintain ground support equipment (e.g., baggage tugs, belt loaders, cargo dollies, portable stairs) safely and efficiently.
- Perform pre- and post-flight checks on ground equipment and report any malfunctions or damages.
- Assist with aircraft pushback and towing operations as required.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the ramp area, ensuring a safe working environment.
- Support passenger boarding and deplaning processes, including setting up and removing stairs.
- Adhere strictly to all aviation safety regulations, company policies, and security procedures.
- Communicate effectively with flight crew, airport personnel, and other ground staff.
- Respond to immediate operational needs and emergencies with composure and efficiency.
