Key Responsibilities

  • Safely guide aircraft to and from parking stands using standard marshalling signals.
  • Operate various ground support equipment (e.g., pushback tugs, baggage loaders, belt loaders, ground power units) efficiently and safely.
  • Load and unload baggage, cargo, and mail with care and according to established procedures.
  • Perform aircraft pushback and towing operations.
  • Conduct visual checks of aircraft and surroundings for potential hazards.
  • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of baggage to passengers.
  • Communicate effectively with flight crews, air traffic control, and other ground personnel.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety regulations, company policies, and aviation security protocols.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions, incidents, or hazards promptly.
  • Participate in de-icing/anti-icing procedures when required.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment on the ramp and in equipment storage areas.

Required Skills

  • Valid Australian Driver's License (manual transmission preferred).
  • Ability to obtain an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC).
  • Strong understanding and commitment to safety procedures and protocols.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy objects (up to 25kg) and work in various weather conditions.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions precisely.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in an airport or logistics environment.
  • Experience operating heavy machinery or specialized vehicles.
  • First Aid certification.
  • Forklift license.
  • Knowledge of IATA Ground Operations Manual (IGOM) procedures.
