Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough screening of passengers, carry-on baggage, checked baggage, cargo, and mail using advanced security equipment and manual search techniques.
- Monitor and control access to restricted areas of the airport, meticulously verifying identification and authorization documents.
- Perform routine and irregular patrols and surveillance of airport premises to detect and deter potential security breaches or suspicious activities.
- Respond promptly and effectively to security incidents, alarms, and emergency situations, strictly following established protocols and procedures.
- Enforce all relevant national and international aviation security regulations and procedures, ensuring full compliance at all times.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all security activities, incidents, equipment checks, and findings.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with passengers, airport staff, airline personnel, and law enforcement agencies.
- Operate and accurately interpret results from various security technologies, including X-ray machines, walk-through metal detectors, and explosive trace detection (ETD) equipment.
- Provide a professional, courteous, and helpful demeanor while maintaining a firm and authoritative approach to security protocols.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in security operations, preferably within an airport, public transportation hub, or other highly regulated environment.
- Exceptional observational skills, keen attention to detail, and strong analytical capabilities.
- Ability to remain calm, focused, and decisive under pressure and in high-stress situations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with proficiency in both spoken and written German and English.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications for record-keeping and data entry.
- Physical fitness to stand, walk, patrol, and lift for extended periods, as required by the role.
- Valid German security qualification (e.g., §34a GewO certificate or equivalent for aviation security roles).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous certification as an Aviation Security Officer (Luftsicherheitskontrollkraft, LSKK) in Germany.
- Current First Aid and/or CPR certification.
- Demonstrated experience with specific airport security systems and screening technologies.
- Additional language proficiency (e.g., French, Spanish, Arabic) is considered a valuable asset.
