Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class 1 (Category C+E) vehicles to transport goods over short and long distances.
- Adhere strictly to all UK road transport legislation, including driver hours and vehicle safety regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any defects or maintenance requirements promptly.
- Ensure timely and secure delivery of cargo, following planned routes and schedules.
- Load and unload goods as required, ensuring proper securing and handling procedures are followed.
- Maintain accurate logbooks, delivery records, and all necessary documentation.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, clients, and team members.
- Represent Career.zycto professionally at all times.
- Comply with company policies and procedures regarding health, safety, and environmental standards.
Required Skills
- Valid AZ (Class 1 / Category C+E) driving license.
- Minimum of 2 years verifiable commercial driving experience.
- Clean driving record with no major infractions.
- Digital Tachograph Card.
- Driver CPC qualification (or willingness to obtain with support).
- Excellent knowledge of UK road transport regulations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical fitness to perform job duties, including loading/unloading.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with various types of freight and trailers (e.g., curtainsiders, flatbeds).
- Forklift operation certification (advantageous but not essential).
- Previous experience driving in the UK or Europe.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken).
- A proactive and problem-solving attitude.
