Key Responsibilities
- Provide attentive and safe supervision for children of varying ages in their home environment.
- Engage children in age-appropriate and educational activities, including creative play, reading, arts & crafts, and outdoor adventures.
- Prepare simple, nutritious meals and snacks, ensuring any dietary restrictions are adhered to.
- Assist with homework and school projects as required.
- Maintain a clean and organised play area and assist with light household tidying related to childcare activities.
- Implement and maintain consistent bedtime routines.
- Communicate effectively and regularly with parents regarding their child's day, behaviour, and any important observations.
- Adhere to family rules and schedules, ensuring a consistent routine for the children.
- Respond calmly and effectively to minor emergencies or unexpected situations, following established protocols.
- Foster a positive, respectful, and encouraging atmosphere for children's growth and development.
Required Skills
- Fluency in English (written and spoken)
- Minimum of 1 year of verifiable experience in childcare (babysitting, nannying, or similar role)
- Strong understanding of child safety and first aid principles (certification preferred)
- Exceptional patience, empathy, and a genuine love for children.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with both children and adults.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong sense of responsibility.
- Ability to create engaging and educational activities for children.
- Proof of eligibility to work in the UK.
Preferred Qualifications
- Paediatric First Aid and CPR certification.
- Qualifications in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field.
- Experience with children of diverse age groups, including infants.
- Clean driving license and access to a reliable vehicle.
- Positive references from previous childcare roles.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
