Key Responsibilities
- Safely load and unload passenger baggage, cargo, and mail onto and from aircraft, carts, and conveyor belts.
- Operate various ground support equipment (GSE) such as baggage tugs, belt loaders, and forklifts (with proper training and certification).
- Transport luggage and cargo to and from aircraft, terminals, and storage areas.
- Sort and stack baggage according to flight number and destination codes with accuracy.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations, company policies, and aviation security procedures.
- Perform pre-operation and post-operation checks on equipment, reporting any malfunctions or damage.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including baggage handling areas and equipment.
- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other airport personnel.
- Assist with other duties as assigned to support overall airport operations.
Required Skills
- Proven ability to lift heavy objects (up to 23 kg/50 lbs) regularly and perform strenuous physical tasks.
- Excellent physical stamina and strength, comfortable with standing, bending, lifting, and walking for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions and safety protocols.
- Reliable and punctual, with a strong work ethic and a commitment to teamwork.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic outdoor and indoor environment, often in varying weather conditions.
- Basic understanding of English for communication and safety instructions.
- Valid driver's license (Class B equivalent in Germany) and clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a physically demanding role, warehousing, logistics, or airport operations.
- Experience operating ground support equipment (GSE) or heavy machinery.
- Fluency in German is a plus to better communicate with local staff and regulations.
- Familiarity with airport layouts and baggage handling systems.
