As a Baggage Handler, you’ll play a critical part in ensuring smooth and timely passenger journeys. Your core duties will include safely and efficiently loading and unloading luggage, cargo, and mail onto and from aircraft, as well as transporting these items between various airport locations. This role demands strict adherence to safety protocols and the ability to perform effectively outdoors in diverse weather conditions. You will learn to operate specialized ground support equipment. Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently load and unload baggage, cargo, and mail onto and from aircraft.
- Transport luggage and other items between terminals, aircraft, and designated storage areas.
- Operate specialized ground support equipment such as tugs, baggage carts, and conveyor belts (after training).
- Adhere strictly to all safety procedures and regulations, including those related to hazardous materials.
- Inspect and report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards.
- Work effectively as part of a team to ensure on-time departures and arrivals.
- Handle luggage with care to prevent damage.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 70 pounds) repeatedly and consistently.
- Strong physical stamina and ability to perform strenuous tasks.
- Reliability and punctuality are essential.
