Key Responsibilities
- Prepare a diverse range of breads (e.g., sourdough, baguettes, whole wheat) and pastries (e.g., croissants, Danish, cakes, muffins) from raw ingredients following Artcaffé's standardized recipes and production schedules.
- Measure and mix ingredients, operate various kitchen equipment including industrial mixers, proofers, and ovens, ensuring precise execution at every stage of the baking process.
- Monitor oven temperatures, baking times, and product appearance to ensure consistent quality, texture, and flavor.
- Decorate and finish pastries and desserts with precision and artistic flair, adhering to aesthetic guidelines.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation, ensuring compliance with all food safety and hygiene regulations (HACCP principles).
- Manage inventory of baking ingredients, place orders as needed, and minimize waste through efficient production practices.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team and Head Chef to plan daily production, special orders, and menu development.
- Troubleshoot baking issues and adjust recipes or techniques as necessary to achieve desired results.
- Train and mentor junior baking staff, sharing knowledge and best practices.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Baker or Pastry Cook, with a strong portfolio of bread and pastry creations.
- In-depth knowledge of baking techniques, ingredient properties, and equipment operation.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a high-volume, dynamic kitchen environment.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality, consistent products.
- Understanding of food safety and sanitation standards (e.g., HACCP).
Preferred Qualifications
