Career.zycto is on the lookout for a talented and dedicated Baker specializing in both bread and pastry production to join our vibrant team in Mombasa. Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and bake a variety of bread products, including artisanal loaves, rolls, and specialty breads, following established recipes and quality standards.
  • Produce a diverse range of pastry items such as cakes, cookies, tarts, muffins, and croissants, ensuring consistency in taste and presentation.
  • Monitor oven temperatures, baking times, and product quality to ensure all items are baked to perfection.
  • Manage inventory of ingredients, place orders as needed, and ensure proper storage to minimize waste.
  • Operate and maintain all baking equipment, ensuring cleanliness and proper functioning.
  • Adhere strictly to food safety and sanitation regulations (HACCP principles) at all times.
  • Contribute to new recipe development and product innovation to keep our offerings fresh and exciting.
  • Collaborate effectively with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth workflow and timely production.
  • Decorate and finish pastry items with precision and artistic flair.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workstation.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Baker with a focus on both bread and pastry production.
  • Solid understanding of baking principles, techniques, and ingredient functions.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations.
  • Ability to lift heavy ingredients and stand for extended periods.
