Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior bakers with ingredient preparation, including measuring, sifting, and mixing.
- Help with the shaping, proofing, and baking of various doughs and batters.
- Operate and clean bakery equipment, such as mixers, ovens, and proofers, following safety guidelines.
- Maintain a clean and organized work station, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and sweeping floors.
- Package finished products, ensuring proper labeling and presentation.
- Receive and organize deliveries, verifying contents against invoices.
- Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, reporting shortages to management.
- Occasionally assist with front-of-house duties, serving customers and handling transactions.
- Adhere to all food safety and sanitation standards (HACCP principles).
- Support the team with general tasks to ensure efficient bakery operations.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs (23 kg) regularly.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow recipes accurately.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliability and punctuality are essential.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a warm environment.
- Basic understanding of kitchen hygiene and safety practices.
- Eagerness to learn and take initiative.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a bakery, kitchen, or food service environment.
- Current Food Handler's Certificate.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
