Career.zycto is actively seeking a meticulous and dedicated Bank Reconciliation Support professional to join our finance team in North Nanaimo, Nanaimo. Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly bank reconciliations for multiple bank accounts and entities.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in bank statements, general ledger, and cash records promptly.
- Prepare and post necessary journal entries to correct variances and ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Collaborate with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other internal departments to gather information and resolve outstanding items.
- Maintain detailed records of all reconciliation activities and supporting documentation.
- Assist in the month-end and year-end close processes related to cash and bank accounts.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements in bank reconciliation procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Generate reconciliation reports for management review as required.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in bank reconciliation or general accounting roles.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data analysis).
- Familiarity with accounting principles and practices.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience with an enterprise-level accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks Enterprise).
- Knowledge of Canadian banking practices.
