Job Description
NMB Bank Plc is seeking a diligent and proactive Bank Security Support professional to join our team in Bububu, Zanzibar City. This is an immediate hire opportunity for an individual committed to ensuring the highest standards of security for our branch premises, assets, and personnel. As a Bank Security Support, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and secure banking environment, protecting against potential threats, and responding effectively to security incidents. Your responsibilities will encompass both physical and electronic security measures, requiring a keen eye for detail, strong observational skills, and the ability to act swiftly and decisively under pressure. You will be instrumental in the day-to-day operation of our security systems, including CCTV monitoring, access control management, and alarm response. This role demands a high level of integrity, reliability, and a commitment to upholding the bank’s security protocols and regulatory compliance. We are looking for someone who is not only technically capable but also possesses excellent communication skills to interact with staff, customers, and external security agencies when necessary. Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and operate electronic security systems, including CCTV, alarm systems, and access control systems, ensuring their optimal functionality.
- Conduct regular security patrols of the bank premises (interior and exterior) to identify and address potential security vulnerabilities.
- Respond promptly and effectively to all security alerts, incidents, and emergencies, including robberies, fires, and medical situations.
- Investigate security breaches, incidents, and suspicious activities, preparing detailed reports and collaborating with law enforcement as required.
- Enforce bank security policies, procedures, and protocols among staff and visitors to ensure compliance.
- Manage and maintain access control for sensitive areas, issuing and tracking visitor badges and ensuring authorized entry only.
- Assist in the training of bank staff on security awareness, emergency procedures, and safety protocols.
- Liaise with local law enforcement, emergency services, and external security vendors to coordinate security efforts.
- Conduct routine checks on security equipment to ensure proper working order and report any malfunctions for immediate repair.
- Maintain accurate records of security incidents, patrols, and system checks.
- Ensure the safety and security of customers and employees within the bank premises.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in security operations, preferably within the banking or financial services sector.
- Familiarity with electronic security systems (CCTV, alarms, access control).
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and effective in high-pressure situations.
- Sound knowledge of security protocols and emergency response procedures.
- Physical fitness and ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods.
- High level of integrity, discretion, and reliability.
- Basic computer proficiency for report writing and system monitoring.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certificate or Diploma in Security Management, Criminology, or a related field.
- Previous experience with a reputable security firm or law enforcement agency.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Knowledge of local security regulations and laws in Tanzania.
