Career.zycto is seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Bank Teller to join our dynamic branch team in Llandaff, Cardiff. This is a pivotal role where you will serve as the primary point of contact for our valued customers, providing exceptional service and supporting their day-to-day banking needs.
As a Bank Teller, you will be responsible for a wide array of transactional duties, including processing deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, and cashing cheques. Your accuracy in handling cash and maintaining transaction records will be paramount. Beyond transactions, this role offers a fantastic opportunity to build genuine relationships with customers, understanding their financial goals, and proactively identifying opportunities to introduce them to other banking products and services that can enhance their financial well-being. You will be instrumental in referring customers to specialist advisors for services such as mortgages, loans, and investment products, contributing directly to the branch’s overall success.

Key Responsibilities
- Process routine customer transactions including deposits, withdrawals, payments, and cheque cashing with speed and accuracy.
- Manage and balance a cash drawer daily, reconciling all transactions and ensuring strict adherence to cash handling procedures.
- Identify customer needs and effectively cross-sell or refer appropriate banking products and services (e.g., savings accounts, loans, credit cards) to specialist advisors.
- Provide friendly, professional, and efficient customer service, resolving inquiries and issues promptly and courteously.
- Educate customers on various banking channels, including online banking, mobile apps, and ATM functionalities.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of customer information and adhere to all bank security procedures and regulatory compliance (e.g., AML, GDPR).
- Assist with opening new accounts, updating customer information, and processing changes.
- Collaborate with branch team members to achieve collective service goals and maintain a positive work environment.
- Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance product knowledge and service skills.
- Support general branch operations as needed, including administrative tasks and maintaining a tidy workspace.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in a customer service role, ideally within a cash-handling environment.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in managing financial transactions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport quickly.
- Solid mathematical aptitude and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency with computer systems and ability to quickly learn new software.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a busy branch setting.
- High level of integrity and a strong sense of responsibility.
- Demonstrated understanding of the importance of confidentiality and compliance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Bank Teller or in a financial services environment.
- GCSEs (or equivalent) including Maths and English at grade C/4 or above.
- Familiarity with financial regulations and banking products.
- Experience using CRM systems for customer interaction management.
- Fluency in Welsh is an advantage, given our location in Cardiff.
