Job Description
Are you a meticulous, customer-focused individual with a knack for numbers and a passion for service? National Commercial Bank (NCB) Jamaica is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Bank Teller to join our dynamic team in Liberty, St. Ann’s Bay. This full-time role is at the forefront of our customer interactions, serving as the first point of contact for many of our valued clients. You will be instrumental in delivering efficient, accurate, and friendly service, primarily focusing on cash transactions and ensuring a seamless banking experience.
As a Bank Teller specializing in cash transactions, you will manage a variety of customer needs, from deposits and withdrawals to cashing cheques and processing payments. Your precision in handling cash, adherence to security protocols, and ability to quickly resolve inquiries will be critical to your success. You will also play an important role in identifying customer needs and proactively recommending suitable NCB products and services, contributing to the branch’s overall performance and customer satisfaction goals. Key Responsibilities
- Process a high volume of cash and cheque transactions accurately and efficiently, including deposits, withdrawals, and payments.
- Verify customer identification and transaction details to ensure compliance with bank policies and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain and balance a cash drawer daily, reconciling discrepancies and preparing daily transaction reports.
- Respond to customer inquiries, provide account information, and resolve basic banking issues with professionalism and courtesy.
- Promote and cross-sell NCB products and services by identifying customer needs and recommending appropriate solutions.
- Adhere strictly to all bank security procedures, operational guidelines, and anti-money laundering regulations.
- Educate customers on alternative banking channels, such as online and mobile banking platforms.
- Assist with other branch operational duties as needed to support team objectives and maintain a smooth workflow.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in cash handling and managing financial transactions, preferably in a retail or banking environment.
- Exceptional customer service and interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written.
- High level of accuracy and meticulous attention to detail.
- Basic proficiency in computer systems and standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle challenging customer situations with professionalism.
- Demonstrated integrity, reliability, and trustworthiness.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Previous experience as a Bank Teller or in a similar financial services role.
