As a Bank Teller & Customer Service Representative, you will be the frontline ambassador, often the first point of contact for clients entering the branch. Your primary responsibility will be to process various financial transactions accurately and efficiently, including deposits, withdrawals, payments, money transfers, and cashing checks, while meticulously verifying all details. Beyond these essential transactional duties, you will play a crucial role in building and maintaining strong, lasting customer relationships. Key Responsibilities
- Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently, including deposits, withdrawals, fund transfers, and cashing checks.
- Verify customer identities and transaction details to prevent fraud and ensure compliance with banking regulations.
- Balance cash drawer daily, ensuring accuracy and adherence to established procedures.
- Respond to customer inquiries regarding account balances, transaction history, and bank products and services.
- Identify customer needs and cross-sell appropriate banking products and services, referring complex issues to relevant departments.
- Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction by providing courteous, professional, and prompt service.
- Resolve customer complaints and issues effectively and courteously, escalating when necessary.
- Adhere strictly to all bank policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines.
- Maintain confidentiality of customer information and financial data.
- Assist with opening and closing procedures of the branch as required.
- Educate customers on various digital banking channels and self-service options.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in cash handling and transaction processing.
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills (verbal and written).
- Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Ability to work accurately under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Kinyarwanda and English.
- Basic computer literacy and ability to learn new banking software quickly.
- High level of integrity and professionalism.
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Banking, or a related field.
- Previous experience as a bank teller or in a similar customer-facing role within the financial sector.
- Knowledge of banking products, services, and regulatory requirements specific to Rwanda.
- Fluency in French is an added advantage.
