NMB Bank Plc is seeking a dedicated and proactive Banking Operations Support professional to join our dynamic team in Chake Chake, Pemba South. In this vital role, you will be the backbone of our branch’s efficiency, playing a critical part in processing transactions, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring all banking procedures adhere to strict regulatory guidelines and internal policies. As a Banking Operations Support specialist, you will work collaboratively with front-office teams and other departments, providing essential administrative and operational assistance that directly impacts our ability to serve our customers effectively. Your day-to-day will involve a variety of tasks, from reconciling accounts and managing document archives to assisting with internal audits and resolving operational discrepancies. Key Responsibilities

  • Process and verify various banking transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, and remittances, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Reconcile daily transactions and cash movements, identifying and resolving any discrepancies promptly.
  • Maintain accurate customer records and ensure all documentation is complete, organized, and compliant with bank policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide operational support to front-office staff, assisting with customer inquiries, issue resolution, and service delivery when escalated.
  • Monitor and report on operational risks, contributing to the implementation of internal controls to mitigate potential losses.
  • Assist in preparing reports for management and regulatory bodies, ensuring data integrity and timely submission.
  • Participate in internal and external audit processes, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
  • Stay updated with changes in banking regulations, policies, and procedures to ensure continuous compliance.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in banking operations or a related financial services role.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in handling financial data.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Swahili.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Word.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and ethical conduct.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Banking, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of core banking systems and software.
  • Familiarity with Tanzanian banking regulations and compliance standards.
  • Experience with back-office operations in a commercial bank.
