Key Responsibilities
- Perform a full range of barbering services including precision haircuts, hot towel shaves, meticulous beard trims, and expert styling for men of all ages.
- Consult with clients to determine their desired styles, providing expert recommendations and personalized advice on hair care and grooming.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hygienic workstation and tools in strict accordance with local health and safety regulations.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring repeat business through exceptional service, a friendly demeanor, and effective communication.
- Stay updated on the latest barbering trends, techniques, and product knowledge, continually enhancing your professional skill set.
- Manage appointments efficiently, accurately record client preferences, and handle cash/card transactions with integrity.
- Promote and sell premium grooming products to clients, offering personalized advice tailored to their specific needs.
- Adhere strictly to all company policies and procedures, contributing to a professional and respectful work environment.
- Collaborate positively with team members to ensure a harmonious work environment and seamless client experience.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 2 years) as a professional Barber.
- Proficiency in various haircutting techniques including fades, tapers, classic cuts, and modern styles.
- Expertise in straight razor shaving, beard grooming, and facial hair artistry.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging diverse clientele.
- Excellent customer service orientation with a focus on client satisfaction.
- Thorough knowledge of health, safety, and hygiene standards specific to a barbering setting.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a dynamic team.
- Fluent in Portuguese (essential for effective client interaction in Mozambique).
Preferred Qualifications
- A valid professional barbering license or certification from a recognized institution.
- A professional portfolio showcasing previous work (photos or active social media presence).
- Experience working with diverse hair types and textures, including African hair.
- Additional language skills, such as Emakhuwa, Lomwe, or Sena, are highly advantageous.
- Previous experience working in a high-volume, fast-paced barbershop environment.
