Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee, tea, and other beverages according to company standards.
- Operate and maintain espresso machines, grinders, and other coffee-making equipment.
- Greet customers warmly, take orders accurately, and process payments efficiently using a POS system.
- Provide excellent customer service, answer questions about menu items, and offer recommendations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting coffee bar and seating area.
- Monitor and restock inventory, ensuring adequate supplies are available.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including food handling and sanitation.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a barista or in a similar customer service role
- Excellent knowledge of coffee preparation techniques and equipment
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Basic math skills and experience with cash handling/POS systems
- Team-oriented with a positive attitude
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a cafe or restaurant setting.
- Knowledge of Rwandan coffee beans and local brewing traditions.
- Fluency in Kinyarwanda and English; French is a plus.
