Job Description
Moon Palace Jamaica is seeking a talented and enthusiastic Barista & Coffee Shop Team Member to join our dynamic Food & Beverage team. As a key member of our coffee shop team, you will be responsible for crafting high-quality coffee and espresso beverages, engaging with guests, and ensuring a clean, welcoming, and efficient operation. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a wide variety of coffee, espresso, and specialty beverages according to Moon Palace Jamaica's recipes and quality standards.
- Engage with guests in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner, providing excellent customer service and product recommendations.
- Operate and maintain espresso machines, grinders, and other coffee-related equipment, ensuring cleanliness and optimal performance.
- Handle cash and process transactions accurately using a Point of Sale (POS) system.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including coffee bar, seating areas, and storage spaces, adhering to strict hygiene and sanitation guidelines.
- Monitor inventory of coffee beans, milk, syrups, and other supplies, assisting with stock rotation and replenishment.
- Educate guests on our coffee offerings, preparation methods, and any daily specials.
- Collaborate effectively with other F&B team members to ensure smooth service flow and guest satisfaction.
- Adhere to all resort policies, safety regulations, and brand standards at all times.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a barista or in a similar coffee preparation role.
- Strong knowledge of coffee types, brewing methods, and espresso preparation.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in cash handling and operating a Point of Sale (POS) system.
- Understanding of food safety and sanitation principles.
- A passion for coffee and a commitment to delivering a high-quality product.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a hotel, resort, or high-volume hospitality setting.
- Certification in coffee preparation or food handling.
- Ability to create latte art.
- Familiarity with various coffee bean origins and flavor profiles.
- Basic proficiency in a second language (e.g., Spanish, French).
