Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a wide variety of coffee beverages, including espresso, lattes, cappuccinos, and speciality drinks, adhering to company recipes and quality standards.
- Operate and maintain coffee brewing equipment, grinders, and other cafe machinery, ensuring cleanliness and proper functionality.
- Welcome customers warmly, take orders accurately, and process transactions efficiently using a POS system.
- Provide expert recommendations on menu items, coffee bean varieties, and brewing methods to enhance customer satisfaction.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting counter area, ensuring all supplies are stocked and readily available.
- Adhere to all food safety and hygiene regulations, ensuring a safe and clean working environment.
- Handle customer feedback and complaints professionally, escalating issues to management when necessary.
- Contribute to a positive team environment by assisting colleagues and fostering a collaborative atmosphere.
- Assist with inventory management, including stocking shelves, monitoring expiration dates, and receiving deliveries.
- Stay informed about current coffee trends, new products, and seasonal offerings to continually enhance the customer experience.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Barista in a cafe or hospitality setting
- Strong knowledge of coffee types, brewing methods, and espresso machine operation
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work efficiently and calmly in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in cash handling and point-of-sale (POS) systems
- High level of cleanliness and adherence to hygiene standards
- Ability to create consistent and high-quality latte art
- Fluent in English and French (Creole is a plus)
