Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a diverse menu of coffee beverages, including espressos, cappuccinos, lattes, and specialty drinks, adhering to Engen's quality standards.
- Operate and maintain all coffee-making equipment, ensuring cleanliness, proper functionality, and timely reporting of any maintenance issues.
- Provide exceptional customer service, taking orders accurately, handling inquiries, and building a positive rapport with customers.
- Process cash and card transactions efficiently and accurately using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting coffee station and Quickshop area, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
- Monitor and replenish coffee beans, milk, syrups, and other supplies, ensuring stock levels are adequate throughout the day.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including those related to food safety, hygiene, and customer service.
- Promote special offers, loyalty programs, and new menu items to enhance customer engagement and drive sales.
- Assist with other Quickshop duties as needed, contributing to the overall smooth operation of the service station.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Barista or in a similar customer service role within the food and beverage industry (minimum 6 months).
- Basic knowledge of coffee preparation techniques, espresso machine operation, and latte art fundamentals.
- Exceptional customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Ability to work efficiently and calmly in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Strong attention to detail, particularly regarding cleanliness, product quality, and order accuracy.
- Proficiency in handling cash transactions and operating a POS system.
- Reliability and punctuality, with the ability to commit to an immediate start.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
- Previous experience working in a retail or convenience store environment.
- Knowledge of local food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Ability to speak Sesotho and English fluently to effectively communicate with diverse customers.
