Career.zycto is seeking a passionate and skilled Part-Time Barista to join our vibrant team in Candos, Vacoas-Phoenix. We are looking for an individual who genuinely loves coffee, understands the art of brewing, and is dedicated to providing an outstanding customer experience. As a Barista, you will be the face of our establishment, responsible for crafting a wide array of high-quality coffee and tea beverages, ensuring consistency, and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere for all our patrons. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including espresso drinks, brewed coffee, teas, and specialty drinks, adhering to established recipes and quality standards.
- Operate and maintain espresso machines, grinders, and other coffee-making equipment, ensuring they are clean and in proper working order.
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting patrons warmly, taking orders accurately, and responding to inquiries and concerns with professionalism and efficiency.
- Handle cash and card transactions using a Point-of-Sale (POS) system, ensuring accuracy in all financial dealings.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the coffee bar, seating areas, and restrooms throughout your shift.
- Monitor and replenish coffee beans, milk, syrups, pastries, and other supplies, communicating inventory needs to management.
- Educate customers on various coffee blends, preparation methods, and menu items to enhance their experience.
- Follow all health, safety, and hygiene regulations to ensure a safe and sanitary environment for both staff and customers.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure efficient service, especially during busy periods.
- Assist with opening and closing procedures as required, including cleaning, stocking, and preparing for the next shift.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Barista or in a fast-paced customer service role.
- Excellent knowledge of coffee preparation techniques, including espresso extraction and milk texturing.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a friendly and engaging demeanor.
- Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure.
- Proficiency in cash handling and operating POS systems.
- Impeccable attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality beverages.
- Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Fluency in English and French, both spoken and written.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent qualification.
- Certification in coffee preparation or a related hospitality field.
- Prior experience working in a café or restaurant setting in Mauritius.
- Knowledge of different coffee beans, roasts, and brewing methods.
- Ability to create basic latte art.
