As a Barista, you will be the heart of our client’s coffee operation, responsible for crafting a wide array of espresso-based drinks, teas, and other beverages to the highest standards. Your ability to create beautiful latte art, maintain consistency in every cup, and engage positively with customers will be paramount. We are looking for someone who understands the nuances of different coffee beans, grinding techniques, and extraction methods to ensure every drink served is perfect. Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve a diverse range of coffee beverages (espresso, latte, cappuccino, etc.), teas, and other drinks with precision and consistency.
  • Operate and maintain espresso machines, grinders, and other coffee equipment, ensuring they are clean and in excellent working order.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, taking orders accurately, processing payments, and building rapport with regular patrons.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the coffee bar, seating areas, and back-of-house according to health and safety standards.
  • Monitor and replenish coffee beans, milk, syrups, and other supplies, alerting management to low stock levels.
  • Adhere to all food safety and hygiene regulations.
  • Assist with opening and closing duties as required, including cash handling and reconciliation.
  • Contribute to a positive and welcoming atmosphere for all customers and team members.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 1 year of professional barista experience in a fast-paced café or hospitality setting.
  • Proficiency in operating espresso machines and grinders, with a strong understanding of coffee extraction.
  • Demonstrable latte art skills.
  • Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
  • Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and a passion for quality.
  • Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A formal barista certification or relevant training.
  • Experience with specialty coffee and various brewing methods.
  • Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.
