Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, with a strong focus on cocktail creation and presentation.
- Engage with customers in a friendly, professional, and knowledgeable manner, taking orders, providing recommendations, and ensuring an outstanding guest experience.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar area, including glassware, bar tools, fresh ingredients, and liquor inventory.
- Manage bar inventory effectively, including ordering, receiving, rotating stock, and conducting regular stock takes to minimize waste.
- Process payments accurately and efficiently using point-of-sale (POS) systems.
- Adhere strictly to all local and national liquor laws, health, and safety regulations.
- Collaborate seamlessly with kitchen and waiting staff to ensure smooth service flow and guest satisfaction.
- Contribute to menu development by suggesting new cocktail recipes and innovative drink offerings.
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve complaints with grace and professionalism, aiming for positive outcomes.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 2 years) as a Bartender, with a strong emphasis on cocktail preparation and mixology.
- Excellent knowledge of classic and contemporary drink recipes, spirits, wines, and beers.
- Exceptional customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work efficiently and calmly in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Proficiency in basic mathematics and experience operating POS systems.
- Solid understanding of health and safety regulations, particularly concerning food and beverage handling.
- Fluent in English, with good working knowledge of French or Mauritian Creole.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification from a recognized bartending or mixology school.
- Experience with bar inventory management software.
- Ability to speak additional languages relevant to tourism in Mauritius.
