Job Description
Restaurant chez Yoyo is seeking a passionate and skilled Bartender to join our dynamic team and elevate our beverage program. As a key player in our front-of-house operations, you will be the maestro behind the bar, responsible for crafting an array of classic cocktails, innovative house specials, and a wide selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a diverse range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, with a strong focus on cocktail creation and presentation.
- Engage with guests in a friendly and professional manner, taking drink orders, offering recommendations, and ensuring an exceptional bar experience.
- Maintain a clean, hygienic, and well-organized bar area, including glassware, bar tools, and equipment.
- Manage bar inventory, including ordering, receiving, and stocking spirits, wines, beers, and other bar supplies.
- Accurately handle cash and credit card transactions, processing payments and managing the till.
- Ensure strict adherence to all local and national liquor laws, regulations, and responsible service practices.
- Assist in the development of new and seasonal cocktail recipes, contributing to the bar's innovative menu.
- Collaborate effectively with kitchen and waiting staff to ensure seamless service flow.
- Monitor guest consumption of alcohol and intervene responsibly when necessary.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of proven experience as a Bartender, with a strong emphasis on cocktail preparation.
- Comprehensive knowledge of drink mixing techniques, recipes, and garnishing.
- Exceptional customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work efficiently and accurately in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
- Solid understanding of health, safety, and sanitation standards in a food and beverage establishment.
- Proficiency in both English and Mauritian Creole.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification from a recognized bartending school or culinary institute.
- Familiarity with Point of Sale (POS) systems.
- In-depth knowledge of local and international spirits, wines, and beers.
- Additional language proficiency (e.g., French).
